If the character had a wish or a dream, what would it be and why?
In the book, The Haunting Of Gabriel Ashe, I think the character Seth’s wish/dream would be having his brother, David back. In the book when weird things happen before school started, people blame Seth for ruining Felicia’s party but he didn’t. So one day, Gabe/Gabriel (his old friend) went over to Seth’s house, Seth talked about his brother suddenly disappearing, all the police said he ran away. Seth thought, David his brother was scared that if Mom or Seth knew where he was, the Hunter would catch him (Hunter is this monster thing in the game his brother sort of made), Seth tried to continue the game “Hunter” with Gabe to remember all the good times with his brother, but after school started, Gabe’s friends told him that David and Seth are CRAZY.
I was very happy to be in the class I was put in. (Mr. Gagnon’s class) On the day the selected students were to change classes, that’s when my life changed. On the first few weeks, Mr. Lee introduced us to blogs. Yeah! Posting our homework instead of writing it in our journals. In our blogs we could do many different things like changing the themes. I still like using the blog as it doesn’t get boring!!! 🙂
During the year, Mr. Lee created two amazing clubs: photography club and video game and animate club. In photography club, we took photos, learned photography terms like Aperture and Shutter Speed. Aperture is a device that controls the quantity of light that passes through the lenses. Shutter Speed is a mechanism that controls the exposure time of an image. We also did many projects and assignments. In videogame and animate club, we created a trailer for a video game or a movie and uploaded it on Youtube. Later on we had a contest and the 2 judges, Mr. Morris and Ms. Leung chose the top 3 trailers.
During the winter, we also went on a overnight trip at EOEC with Ms. Coles class. On the first day, we unpacked, ate our lunch and listened to the routines in the common room. We also got to play games and card games in there too. In our dorms also known rooms, Cali slept on the top bunk and Ivy slept under her. Annalisa slept on the other top bunk and I slept under her. Sadly because Annalisa did the boogie dance on the top bunk, the beds were shaking like crazy and I couldn’t sleep. Anyways, later we played Chuck down the mountain for 4-5 hours because we had nothing to do and we could not sleep. We also threw Cali′s stuffed pillow bumble bee on the top bunk. Sadly, Ivy missed the whole scene, starting from the boogie dance because she fell asleep. BORING!!! the next day we ended up sleeping at 6:oo am and woke up at 6:30 am (Cali’s alarm clock). Only 30 minutes of sleep. On the second day, we played wolf prowl. I was a herbivore. Carnivores had to catch us. Me and my friends stayed together. 5 SECONDS LATER… they disappeared. I hid under a log most times… I almost fell asleep of lying there for so long. It was very tiring. It was also very hard to play with a bunch of winter clothes. At our dorms, we played a card game then we fell asleep. During the night, my bed started shaking like crazy!!! I realized it was ANNALISA DOING THE BOOGIE DANCE ON THE TOP BUNK AT MIDNIGHT, 12:00!!! For the rest of my night, it was hard to sleep… The next day we stayed in the common room and played games with our friends. In the school bus on the way home, Tracy and I zoomed in on the photos in my camera and guessed who it was. (Photography club homework)
We also went on 4 skating trips at Mitchell Fields Arena. We spent the whole time playing tag. I liked being it. We also played bears and hairs. Being hairs was fun because the bears had to catch you. At the end, we had races for the whole class.
That is my reflection. One more thing, thanks to all the teachers who taught me: Ms. Walker (JK), Ms. Collins/ Ms. Mercica (SK), Ms. Weir (grade 1), Ms. Kan (grade 2), Ms. Fung (grade 3), Ms. Kemerer (grade 4) and last but not least… MR. LEE (grade 5)!!! Sadly, we only have 5 more days of school. I will miss McKee a lot …
We do not even know precisely when and where he was born. It is likely, though, that he was born around 1455 in Gaeta, near Naples, and was the son of a merchant.John Cabot was an Italian-born English explorer and navigator. In Italy, he is known as Giovanni Caboto (which is his original name). Cabot was born in Italy but moved to England in 1495. At the request of King Henry VII of England, Cabot sailed to Canada in 1497, commanding the small ship called “Matthew.” Cabot landed near Labrador, Newfoundland, or Cape Breton Island (the exact spot is uncertain) on June 24, 1497. In 1474, John Cabot married a girl named Mattea and eventually became the father of three sons: Ludovico, Sancto and Sebastian/Sebastiano. Sebastian/Sebastiano Cabot, accompanied him on this trip.In 1497, John Cabot (Giovanni Cabotto) set off on a voyage to Asia. On his way he, ran into an island off the coast of North America. As a result, Cabot became the second European to discover North America, thus laying an English claim which would be followed up only after an interval of over one hundred years. With such an interlude, his voyage seems mainly of academic interest. John Cabot traded many goods with the First Nations, like fur. There is no certain answer about who were the first native peoples that he met, because the records from his voyages do not even make it clear what exact part of the North American coast he reached. It could have been almost anywhere between Labrador and Maine. On his first voyage, in 1497, he landed only once, and the records tell us that he did not meet any native people. However, at the place where he went ashore, there were clear signs of recent human activity: a trail leading inland, a stick that had been carved and painted, and what may have been fields cleared as the site for villages. Most scholars think that this evidence points to a Nova Scotia landing in 1497. It is known that the Micmac indians there lived mainly inland, but traveled to the coast from time to time to search for seafood. That would explain signs of human activity, but no humans actually present, where Cabot landed. But we do know for certain that he did not actually meet any native people in 1497.
Hi my name is Mr.Lee, the hamster. I am the king of all hamsters that are living in (The Hamster Plaza).
Well anyways, yesterday this queer person sent me a letter for a peace meeting. When I got there, the meeting room was full of antagonists (transformers). They wanted a peace meeting which turns into a fight. They tried to capture me. Luckily I sneaked out. I had to abate this. Right after I got back to the Hamster Plaza, I made an announcement. All hamster… Please leave this plaza right now. We are under attack. I will inform you when to come back. All the hamsters left, expect for Coco, who was munching on some Yorkshire pudding on a thin log which was his balance beam. I told him to leave but he would listen and took out his head phones and started listening to music.
Then I left him on his balance beam and I went to get my armour.
5 hours later… The antagonists found me. AHHH!!! They started chasing me in circles. I found out that they believed in zombiism. Whenever I said I DON’T BELIEVE IN ZOMBIISM, they fall to the ground and start crying. I have to admit it is very funny. Sadly one of the antagonist, realized I was playing a trick on them. He started chasing my again. 🙁 Suddenly the antagonist picked me up and threw me one the ground very hard-hitting. Then Coco came to help. He brought his headphones and climbed up the antagonist. Put the headphones on their heads and turned to volume up. ( the electro-optics helped) The antagonists did not like that. After a while they started dancing to the song that was played: Gangnam style. The song was very xeric to them. The antagonists felt sorry for capturing them, after all the fun they had.
Mr.Lee informed the hamster to come back to their houses and meet the transformers.
John Cabot was an Italian-born English explorer and navigator. Sebastian/Sebastiano Cabot, accompanied him on this trip. Cabot claimed the land for England. Cabot explored the Canadian coastline and named many of its islands and capes. The mission’s purpose was to search for a Northwest passage across North America to Asia (a seaway to Asia). Cabot was unsuccessful, although he thought that he had reached northeastern Asia. Cabot undertook a second, larger expedition in 1498. On this trip, Cabot may have reached America, but that is uncertain. Cabot’s expeditions were the first of Britain’s claims to Canada. John Cabot died in England in 1499.
In 1496, King Henry VII issued letters patent to Cabot and his son, which authorized them to make a voyage of discovery and to return with goods for sale on the English market. After a first, attempt, Cabot sailed out of Bristol on the small ship Matthew in May 1497, with a crew of 18 men. The expedition made landfall in North America on June 24; the exact location is unknown, but may have been southern Labrador, the island of Newfoundland or Cape Breton Island. When Cabot went ashore, he reportedly saw signs of habitation but no people. He took possession of the land for King Henry, but hoisted both the English and Venetian flags.
In the late 1497in London, Cabot proposed to King Henry VII that he set out on a second expedition across the north Atlantic. This time, he would continue westward from his first landfall until he reached the island of Cipangu (Japan). In February 1498, the king issued letters patent for the second voyage, and that May Cabot set off from Bristol with about five ships and 200 men.
The exact fate of the expedition has not been established, but by July one of the ships had been damaged and sought anchorage in Ireland. It was believed that the ships had been caught in a severe storm, and by 1499, Cabot himself was presumed to have perished at sea. In addition to laying the groundwork for British land claims in Canada, his expeditions proved the existence of a shorter route across the northern Atlantic Ocean, which would later facilitate the establishment of other British colonies in North America.
Which of the four houses would you put the main character in: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw.
Gryffindor – the house of courage, bravery, chivalrous attitudes with a daring and reckless nature.
Ravenclaw – the house of intelligence, wit and a value for learning.
Hufflepuff – the underrated house in Hogwarts.
Slytherins–associated with cunning, ambition and a tendency to look after their own.
If I was to put the main character which is Harry Potter into one of the houses, I would put him in Slytherin even if he is in Gryffindor in the book and the movie. Here are the reasons why. Well…
1. The Slytherin’s logo is a snake, and Harry Potter can communicate with snakes.
2. He was suppose to be put in Slytherin, but he told the Sorting hat to sort him to Gryffindor.
3. Voldemort/ You Know Who was in Slytherin, and if Harry was in Slytherin, Harry Potter can learn more about his weaknesses and personality.
4. I am in Slytherin for Pottermore!!!
